Scientist, Mass Spectrometry
Intabio, Inc. is a Series A funded, early stage company developing analytical solutions to transform biotherapeutic development and manufacturing with products that provide early product quality characterization and profound efficiency gains across all stages of biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Intabio's first product, the Blaze system, will provide rapid detection and identification of subtle protein modifications - modifications that can undermine the stability and efficacy of biotherapeutic drugs such as monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins. Our innovative core technology is the first to utilize microchip functionality to integrate (1) separation of protein isoforms by capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF), (2) 280-nm imaging of protein isoforms for quantitation, and (3) electrospray ionization for delivery of the separated isoforms to an adjacent mass spectrometer.
Intabio, Inc. has an opening for a Scientist, Mass Spectrometry in Newark, CA. This individual will bring their industry experience in developing and running analytical assays for mAbs, developing electrospray protocols and will be a key contributor to the development of Intabio’s cIEF-MS integrated assay and instrument system. This position reports to the CTO.
Highly proficient in mass spec operation (multiple brands), especially electrospray, for intact proteins. Experience with CE, cIEF and biologic samples would be a plus.
Responsibilities would include:
cIEF-MS assay development and optimization in to support both R&D and product development efforts
Analyze customer sample by cIEF-MS, and perform demos for customers
Maintenance/operation of in-house MS instruments
Work closely with Marketing and Corporate Development personnel during customer interactions and play a key role in Intabio’s pre-sales process
PhD degree or equivalent experience in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related field required.
7+ years of industry experience required in biopharma analytical work, field application work for analytical systems, or development of consumables, reagents and biochemical solutions for complex analytical systems.
Excellent communication skills for oral presentations, customer discussions and written technical reports required.
Highly organized, competent able to work well independently and in a team environment.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skils.
Knowledge and hands-on experience in assay development, protein biochemistry, Instrument and consumable development.
